Charice Pempengco...

I've always thought that Philippines has great musical talents. Spending a couple of months there last time I've enjoyed going to the clubs around in Alabang in the evening and just listening to their live bands. Their female singers especially have great range and voice control. Listening to the radio's also you can listen to such a varied range of music, unlike here which is very genre specific, even though there's a radio station that's called MIX....

Anyway this might be some pretty old news to ya all but I juz heard Charice Pempengco... and it's stunning... coming from a 16 year old girl. She has been featured in many of the US Talk shows like Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, etc. etc. and her rise to fame can be attributed to You Tube!

This is a recent performance she made during the David Foster Tribute. Sit back and enjoy, I thought her stage performance was a lil lame... but ignore that and juz listen to the voice oozing with class!....

Christmas?

Got this on mail... pretty funny... anyone up for singing this for christmas? :P
Latest Christmas carol for 2008

You'd better watch out
You'd better not cry
You'd better keep cash
I'm telling you why:
Recession is coming to town.

It's hitting you once,
It's hitting you twice
It doesn't care if you've been careful and wise
Recession is coming to town

It's worthless if you've got shares
It's worthless if you've got bonds
It's safe when you've got cash in hand
So keep cash for goodness sake, HEY

You'd better watch out
You'd better not cry
You'd better keep cashI'm telling you why:
Recession is coming to town!

Finance products are confusing
Finance products are so vague
The banks make you bear the cost of risk
So keep out for goodness sake, OH

You'd better watch out
You'd better not cry
You'd better keep cashI'm telling you why:
Recession is coming to town.

Team Building @ Genting

Just 3 weeks after the company's Team Building, our R&D Department organized another team building session in Genting... you should hear the moans and groans when we were told to bring 3 sets of sports attire, just for a 2 day event... not again!... some of us still carry the scars for the previous trip... including me...
Anyway it was pretty much fun as it was in a smaller group and each of us knows each other quite well, although there were quite a lot of new faces as the department had doubled in number since the previous year.

We stayed over at a place called Genting View Resort as they have quite substantial team building facilities built around the area.
Day 1, was pretty much on the "river course"... activities conducted over a stream that flows through the resort.
On arrival, chit-chatting at the main lobby
Introductory session: Teaching participants how to smoke?... :D

Gearing up for the "river" activities... pls dun speculate what's the guy doing behind me...

Acting "macho" before running the course...

Ever seen a big, round ninja crawling across a wall?... u should've been there
Walking on a rope and clowning around...

Night session... obviously I wasn't paying attention...

Day 2 covered land activities... did stuff where u need to really work in a team with the acception of the flying fox!... it runs to more than 100m... it was actually scary walking up the tower than the actual flying fox itself... anyway the day started pretty well... a couple of us were punished for being late... sigh... dun they understand I gotta do my "business" first... so we had to do some jig...

Gettin jiggy with it... ;)

the climb up was pretty daunting... no safety harness while climbing up...

I dun think u can describe this as a flying "fox"...

Playing "London Bridge is falling down"... :P

Imagine they gotta get me over the wall... :P

Strip attempt No.1

Strip attempt No.2 with "reinforcements"... good thing my shorts and t-shirt held on...

As usual... group photo before dispersing....

Anyway, this would be our last ever departmental team building. For the following years it has been decided that there would only be one and only company team building... :(

Endorsed!: Deluxe Ankle Stabilizer by Futuro Sport

OK I'm gonna start a label called "Endorsed!". Basically this would feature stuff that I use in my everyday life... (like it matters... :P)... be assured that I dun generate any advertising revenue or am a shareholder of the products, if EVER that I am... you would be duly notified... :P... kakaka

I've used many types of ankle guard... being the injury prone that I am and having weak ankles. I've searched high and low for one that can ACTUALLY support the ankles and lo and behold, i came across this.... *drum roll, orchestra plays*... jeng jeng jeng jeng... the Deluxe Ankle Stabilizer by Futuro Sport!... this is a superb piece of work and enables me to play football/futsal again!
You can get details over their website: http://www.futuro.com/products/show/706

I particularly like this product... it fits comfortably while using it with my boots and futsal shoes... and on the field of play... sometimes I can feel my ankle is twisting while running but it would actually "force" it back into position. Although there was once that I fell awkwardly but after a few minutes of recovery... I'm up back and running again... and no after effects!...

Anyway it's a little pricey compared to the normal elastic type of ankle supports... but hei... for the love of the game!... makan bola, tidur bola!...

So in conclusion, this product has gained my seal of approval:
