China it it's best...

Thought they would have learnt from the Olympics fiasco... with the "fireworks" and the swap of the little girl who they deemed is not "cute" enough... they actually have a press report of a succesful space launch... complete with dialogue between the astronauts... BEFORE it has actually launched... read on:...

Back on the field...

I'm finally back on the football field... :p... if u have felt some tremors in Ujong Pasir recently at about 7pm every sunday... you might know where's the source... haha

I love football... but I haven't been playing due to my travels... and also partly due to some injuries... both my ankle are VERY prone to get twisted... since young. And about 3 years back, was badly injured till I was on crutches for about a month. Went for X-rays and all... they keep saying there's something strange on the bone but can't confirm whether it was a crack or not.

Anyway I got meself new boots!... woohoo... got an Adidas Predator Absolion Wide Fit.... for abt RM200 at Al-Ikhsan. Got a Wide Fit coz right now I have to use some canggih adjustable ankle guard to play.

So, anyone interested in footie?... Sunday... 630pm... c u there...!

AKEDREM?... yea rite...

I was deeply touched when I read the account of Tan Hoon Cheng who was detained under the ISA for 18 hours.

"When the police car arrived at the station's entrance, my superior, Puah Eu Peng, our Northern Region Manager, tried to halt the car with his body, to slow the police car's movement. He knocked at the window, to make sure that I was in the car and gestured to show me his support."

An account of it can be accessed here: http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/12732/84/ and here: http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/9/15/nation/20080915132832&sec=nation

I love this country.

Currently I am extremely appalled, disappointed, frustrated and disgusted.

I have lived with biasness, polarisation, etc and have endured that for the past 28 years. But this takes it to another level and for the life of me I can't comprehend this utter complete miscarriage and abuse of power.

I can't understand... so... Open the eyes of my heart, Lord

Australia: Stradbroke Island

Stradbroke Island is a pretty island located about 30km from Brisbane. We didn't know what's really there, the only exception being that it is known to be a place where you can keep a lookout for whales and dolphins... and oh can have BBQ there too ;). The only access to the island was through a ferry, so we boarded the "Big Red Cat" and it takes about an hour to reach over Dunwich, the main settlement of north Stradbroke Island.

Cafeteria within the Ferry...

On the ferry with my sis, put this pic coz it;s the oni time I'm with a "punk" hairstyle :P

Anyway once over at the island we started driving around and came over to Amity Point first. nothing much here accept a jetty, a playground and some fishing spots.

Pelicans lining up at Amity Point

Leanne's I-dun-want-to-talk-to-you-face... :P

We stopped by at a few spots on the beach before heading towards the main attraction which is Point Lookout. It was nice and breathtaking views along the trail, spotted a number of dolphins frolicking around and also a couple of whales breaching and swimming around.

After spending about an hour walking around we spotted a BBQ pit and stopped for lunch. That's where i had the first taste of kangaroo meat... I would say it taste close to beef, slightly softer texture and ermmmmm I still prefer lamb :P.

BBQ Chicken and Kangaroo!

YUM YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Afterwards we drove around and come across this place called Blue Lake. It posted a sign saying the trail is about 12km (I think)... David and I contemplated whether should we take the hike... as they say... curiosity kills the cat... 2 guys-stuffed-with-chicken-and kangaroo decided to take the hike there. and I'm pretty sure it's not 12KM!... we hiked through wooded areas.. and upon reaching the lake... it wasn't as 'blue' as we thought... it was so disappointing that I think better not to post pics of the lake! haha.

The walk through the woods...

Anyway about 3pm we headed back to catch the ferry back and had a nice good vietnamese meal before heading home...

Bye bye Stradbroke...
