Graham Norton and Jackie Chan...

One of the talk shows that I do enjoy watching here is The Graham Norton Show... It's actually hosted by this guy Graham Norton and he's downright funny... and also happens to be gay... some of you might not be comfortable watching this... as ermmm... it's just typically British... :D

Anyway Jackie Chan appeared in this week's edition of Graham Norton Show and it was really hilarious... Jackie Chan still as 'pelat' as ever, British ignorance (he didn't know who's Amy Winehouse... :p) and his typically 'cinaman' expressions was just classic and he manage to hold his own making his own jokes and stuff... It is something to watch and there's only 3 days left on BBC's IPlayer... Do catch it if u dun mind some language and innuendo's... ;)

Catch it here:

Anyway, BBC came up with this great idea of Iplayer where you can catch a week's worth of TV Show... (I can catch up with episodes when I'm back!... and no I'm not watching the soaps...)

My Ride...

Rather than allowing me to trash the BMW's and Audi's in the company's pool of cars they decided to hire a car for my own use for this trip... and they got me a.... *jeng, jeng, jeng*.... a Kia. I guess my ride 'turun pangkat' with me as a Malaysian 'bangla' in the UK :p... kekeke.

Kia Ceed Front view

Anyway it's not such a bad car... it's just that over here in the UK it's held in the same breath as Proton, Hyundai... which doesn't bode well for this brand.... and after driving this car for a month plus... all i can say is... I miss my Latio...

Rear View

Anyway I'm driving a Kia Ceed (pronounced as 'seed'), it's a 1.6 liter engine car, hatchback style and the version I'm driving supposed to be the high end version (minus the bodykit)... but there's no GPS, no reverse sensor, and a radio reception that mainly gets u noise. ON the plus side it has a USB and Ipod connector, quite spacious and I like the controls on the steering. I'm not sure whether it's the same as the Kia Rio over in Malaysia...

Dashboard

I was surprised that the pick-up was a little sluggish as based on specs it has a higher hp compared to my latio. But I think this can be attributed to the extra kerb weight on the Kia... which is fully 140kg heavier!.

Pretty happy to move about in this car... but I would take my latio anytime! :)

Some Sat's and Sun's have to be in the office too... feel like a "bangla" in the UK... :P...

I miss the good food in Malaysia... I also miss playing the guitar and piano... drums I can play in my head... and of course... i miss *you*... ;)

Windsor

Although I've got a hectic schedule for this trip to UK I managed to squeeze in some time to visit Windsor, one of the places that I've wanted to visit for a long time. Was pretty much easy driving to Windsor... about 1.5 hours away from Portsmouth and armed with a map from maps.google.co.uk ;)...

The reason many ppl visit Windsor is obviously to visit Windsor Castle... Anyway it was pretty much easy finding the castle... you really can't miss it when you walk over to town... as it was a long weekend... the town was pretty much crowded... approaching the castle entrance... there was already a long line waiting to enter... joining the queue, had to wait for about 45 minutes before actually entering the castle... after a damage of 14.80 pounds for the ticket!

Aerial view of Windsor Castle

The castle is really huge, sitting on a site about 45000 square metres and has been continously built/rebuilt since 1300's... it's an official residence of the British Royal Family and it's still occupied by the Royal Family, hence the title the largest occupied castle in the world...

There are many sections in Windsor Castle itself, mainly there's the Round Tower, State Apartments, The Drawing's Gallery, Queen Mary's Doll House and St. George's Chapel. I particularly enjoyed the State Apartments, a marvellous display of art treasures from around the world that was given to the royal family dating back to many centuries. Too bad no pictures was allowed.

The drawing Gallery was also pretty good, housing famous drawings from Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Rembrandt and others.

Anyway pretty much enough of describing it... I'll live you guys with some pictures...

Change of guard march pass...

Guarding the Guards...

The Quadrangle... not open to tourist...The round tower...

The "moat" around Round Tower, converted to a Garden...

Untitled... :p.. juz find the yellow leaved tree a contrast with green and the stone walls...

Poser sesat... :P

Entrance to St. George's Cathedral

The massive St. George's Cathedral
The Lower Ward...

U can't leave Windsor Castle without taking this pic :D...

After the visit to Windsor castle, we walked up to Eton College, and later head to the Great Windsor Park with it's famous The Long Walk, which is 6.6km one way and ends in a hill overlooking Windsor. Didn't manage to finish it as it started raining 1/2 way and we had to head back.

The Long Walk...

Well it was a pretty much a sight seeing trip, didn't really enjoy the huge crowd at Windsor Castle but was an interesting experience. Anyway after this, would have to dig in and start focusin on the mountain of work! till then...

How-to-cook-chinese-in-the-hotel

I tapau food back to the Hotel everyday... and as usual... the food is pretty much short on veggies... so basically juz made up my mind to "cook" some veggie dish IN the hotel... :)
First u need the veggie... you can buy ready made all cut lettuce... which they call iceberg lettuce over here and mix it with some freshly cut onions (this is taken from an indian shop which give an onion-tomato spiced mix kinda side dish)...

Main ingredients...
Put the veggies in a tupperware and pour boiling water over it and leave it for a few minutes... afterwards drain the water out... and put the following so-called-oyster-sauce and garlic "juice"...

Seasoning?...

For a complete meal... open a can of mackeral and instant noodles... and hey presto... a complete meal... haha...Chinese food wannabe...

The end result.... the veggie was... hmmmm... edible... the oyster sauce seem more sweet than saltish... the canned mackeral was OK... can't expect much of it... the instant noodles... let me juz say the Brits know nuts abt good maggi mee... :P

Cheers all!
